Did you know there are 100+ black-owned restaurants in the Midlands?

I surely did not and I’m from Columbia!

Hey y’all, I am Khali Gallman and I created Black Eats Week 803 in 2023 when I noticed that there was a lack of minority representation during South Carolina Restaurant Week. During my research, I visited over 100 restaurants in the area and asked all of the owners/managers the same thing, “Have you heard of SC Restaurant Week?” Only ONE owner said yes. That’s when my wheels started turning…

Held during Juneteenth week last year, eight restaurants participated, and over 2,500 people were served during that week! Many of the people who patronized these restaurants had never been nor had heard of some of the restaurants. Tons of media outlets created awareness by stopping by and interviewing the restaurants owners during the week. We hope to expand in years to come so stay tuned, follow us on Facebook/Instagram @BlackEatsWeek803 and join our email list to stay updated. We appreciate your support.
